DJ Matt R (Matt Raymond) started mixing in 1993, DJ’ing at friends parties and numerous functions. Arising from this,  Matt began producing the popular R’n’B and Hip Hop ‘Turn the Tables’ underground Mix Tape Volumes 1 and 2 released in 1998 and 2001, which gained him respect and a reputation within the Perth Urban music scene.

Matt has guest DJ’d at numerous venues around Perth and became a resident DJ at ‘Escobar’ nightclub in 2003.  During this time he collaborated with new artists from Perth’s R’n’B and Hip Hop community.  In particular, Matt wrote and produced music for local artists ‘Studio 2’ and ‘CMF’, which included the up and coming female vocalist and songwriter Felicia Alima now based in Madison, USA.  Matt continually works on writing and music production for clients as well as his usual DJ performances.

More recently Matt has turned his interests and flair towards the House, Breaks, and Garage music genres.   This is reflected in the release of his funky house infused ‘Tasty Mix – Vol 1’ compilation CD.  The follow up ‘Tasty Mix - Vol.2’ is set for release in July 2006, with more proposed in the pipeline.

Matt has recently etched out a reputation as one of Perth’s sought-after contemporary functions DJ’s, providing a diverse and original music approach for corporate and wedding events. Matt’s love for music – whatever genre – has made him a popular choice for functions where there are diverse musical needs for the crowd.
